Appalachian Custom Homes branches out to our neighbor to the north. Although located in Western North Carolina, we have obtained a Commercial & Residential Contractors license in Tennessee, allowing us to serve clients in a broader area. We now offer commercial and residential construction services in North Carolina and Tennessee.

1800’s Farm House Restoration Project

Appalachian Custom Homes completed a flooring restoration project in an 1800’s Farm House. The scope of the project included removal of existing wide plank flooring boards which consisted of oak, poplar, & knotty hemlock. Once the floor boards were removed, insulation and proper sub-floor was installed. The wide plank boards were then planed, re-installed, stained and sealed. The result was an incredibly unique flooring utilizing the existing materials.

CGPAppalachian Custom Homes obtains NAHB Green Professional Certification

Appalachian Custom Homes attends the North Carolina Home Builders Association Builders Expo in Charlotte to obtain the National Association of Home Builders Green Professional Certification. We feel it extremely important to be able to educate our clients on the latest building trends and products. Appalachian Custom Homes is proud to be able to offer our clients Certified Green Homes.

Stoehrmann Residence Kick-Off

Nicholas & Sheyenne Berndt of Appalachian Custom Homes travelled to Warrenton Virginia to begin design of the Stoehrmann Residence. The meeting with the Stoehrmann’s was focused on finalizing the floor plans and discussing proposed exterior and interior finishes. This unique mountain style home will be constructed in Sylva, North Carolina and will feature over 4,000 sq. ft. of heated space in addition to an attached two car garage and numerous covered porches. The home will be situated on a spectacular lot and situated to take advantage of the southwestern mountain vistas.

Christopoulos Residence Project

Appalachian Custom Homes has started construction on the Christopoulos Residence in Sylva, North Carolina. A stunning mountain style home designed and situated on the property to take full advantage of the spectacular view of the Plott Balsam Mountain range. Home features include timber frame porches & car port, out-door stone fireplace, and rustic style board & batten exterior.

Kostas Restaurant Project

Appalachian Custom Homes completed an extensive restaurant renovation for Kostas Family Restaurant in Dillsboro, North Carolina. The scope of this project included both interior and exterior renovations. New timber frame porches were constructed on the exterior for elegant outdoor dining while interior renovations consisted of new flooring and timber frame accents, complete kitchen renovation, structural modifications, bathroom renovations, and construction of a new stone fireplace. The completed renovation offers diners a cozy and inviting dining experience while the timber frame and stone accents provide a touch of mountain style charm.
